Exceptional meritorious service from 3 December thru 10 December 2011. After having lost to the 12th Marine's, realizing that his Soldiers' pride was badly bruised. CPL.Russell decided to take positive action and never again let our unit compete against such a experienced, very skilled foe without proper preparation and planning to succeed at our mission. Corporal Russell went above and beyond that what is required of him, spending well over 10 hours reviewing game footage to formulate a plan of action that could lead to victory, His efforts resulted in a improvement in Alpha 2-7's combat effectiveness that cannot be summed up in a few short sentences. His actions reflect greatly upon himself, his Company and the Regiment as a whole, and are in the highest keeping's of the traditions of the 7th Cavalry.
